Hej hej, I have come forth from the cave of wisdom once more to inform you homo sapiens about knowledge I have encountered throughout my journey. I have learnt throughout my Inquiry learning about culture *wow* but specifically Maori culture. In Maori culture there are many things that makes them different, like how they greet. But I was given 3 things to research and put it into slide for you guys to read.
I was a pupil at Marshland School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

I bet you didn't know these things about Maori culture that I do and you don't
Best animation of 2020 hands down and super interesting
Hej hej, I have returned from my slumber inside the cave of wisdom. I will share with you my wisdom I have learnt this week, which today's topic will be a game of the name Ki o Rahi. This maori game is simple to learn an play, you have boundaries marked by cone which is best to colour code it. On the outskirts are cones the players on the outside have to touch for points, each cone is one point, and one layer in is where more players are placed in (note: no players are allowed to leave their areas and go into other ones) and they are used to get a better shot at the trash can. One more layer in and there is where 4 people being the common amount go in to defend or attack the bin. The point of the bin is when you get your points from the cone you have to throw the ball and hit the bin to bank in those points, if you drop the ball or get the ball stolen or deflected by an opposing player you lose the points and its a turn over if you haven't scored. That is all I can remember about the game so far, try it out with family and/or friends if you get the chance.

How to cook, but you don't get to use your stove
Hej hej, i am back. This week i have researched culture, specifically Maori culture. Our first thing to research was how to cook hangi and what they are. A Hangi is a traditional way of cooking in Maori culture which was to dig a hole and start a fire and burn some rocks in it, after the fire dies out you put sacks around the hole to protect from excess dirt and put in some kai baskets with meat at the bottom then vege's in the middle and stuffing in the top. Then you would put some blankets over it and cover it in soil and wait for it to be cooked, but with advancements of technology the way to hangi has changed too. Now you use this metal thing that works like a hangi but more advanced. I have made a poster about it and would like to show you.
Ok goodbye now.

BOTTLE ROCKETS AND A COMPETITION (I WON)
Hej hej, I'm back again with great news. I have won a rocket competition in my class in groups spanning from 2-5 the average being 3 people in a group, and each group would have specific people doing specific task like health advisor and rocket designer. I made the entire rocket and was in charge of it's designs, I must've done something right because I made the best rocket in the class. But enough about me and now about the task at hand, for inquiry we learnt about rockets and laws o motion in order to create our own rocket. Here is our 53 second video of me, Hamish and Tane launching our rocket.

Lines of words that make sense to computers and not me
Hej hej, I'm back with some news skillz (I'm too cool I know). I learnt how to partly code in python using the website codester.com, I can read a bit too and tell what it does. I did a PSA (Public Streaming Announcement) on the issue of littering, I did it because I find it an issue about the world that kills many and ruins this world. This message is for everyone but it has some modern day 'meme' slang that children and adults combined who watch 'memes' will understand more than others.
Here are 3 pictures if my PSA and the code I used (some text cuts off because it's too long.)
I tried making this appealing to every audience by making it move so it appeals to younger audience, make it say 'meme' slang to appeal to older children, so that when adults see they ask their children what it means so the pay attention.
To get a better understanding of python, line 17 that says sprite.move_up(80) is telling the garbage to move up on the background by 80 small steps.
OK goodbye

SCIENCE (NOTHING MORE THAN SCIENCE I PROMISE)
Hej hej, I'm back with another episode of SCHOOL (BEST THING IN THE WORLD)! This week I did science with a side of nothing, and it worked out for the most part. I did the science, got the results, and got the Friday off to tell you what I did!! (I didn't get the day off)
If you'd like the science report of all the things I and my buddy Rico did you can check this out on this link!
If you'd like a small rundown i learnt how planes fly, made a plan for what I would do with my new found knowledge, created planes I would use for the test flight, asked for measuring tape, made a spreadsheet to markdown results, did test flights and then did normal plane flights, and slapped it on to a beautiful report that I will say again, you can click on the link above and read.
That will be all for today viewers, I will take my leave.
Adios.

Rockets and failing parachutes (Made by me)
Hej hej,
I have mode some test parachutes for the Wonder project. What's the Wonder project you ask? Well it's a project where you make your own rockets and once done you can launch your very own rocket! We were currently in the process of learning about parachutes and making them by scratch using only the materials we were given. I will give you the step by step program on how I made my parachute
1. I made a circle prototype using newspaper, a cloth rag and string. It was my start off idea and I attached a pencil to it that managed to float for about 1 second instead plummeting to the ground, so it was my base for the finished project.
2. I made a bigger version of the prototype and added a little bit more of tape, i thought it did good with the pencil so on went the two cogs that we had to fly down and the parachute folded on itself.
3.I then added some paper towels for more strength but it didn't work too well so I brainstormed some more ideas.
4. I had the idea of putting some string and taping it on to the places where the parachute was folding in and it stopped folding in on itself when falling, so now there's an x of string on the top of the chute that allows it to fall.
5. to hold the cogs in place one of my team members decided to incase the two hex nuts in layers of tape and material which added safety and weight, too much weight.
The final outcome looks like this -
You can see the tape, the nut holder, the materials, and the string.
Overall from roughly 3-5 meter height it flew 2.3 seconds which isn't too bad might I say myself.
OK byebye

Monday mashup on friday!
For maths we did sorcery and magic squares which, for your information, is a 3 by 3 square which in each row has to equal the magic number of your choosing or the set number. lets say we have 3 fours and 3 fives and lastly 3 sixes. It would look like the picture below.

THE SUNS BIG TANTRUMS AND HOW THE MAKE THE SKY BRIGHTER (late post)
We start at the sun, which from afar looks relatively peaceful until you get a closer look at it and see that it is vomiting something called a coronal mass ejection or cme for short which is just a massive heat wave in space. It travels through space at 9 million k/ph, and when it hits Earth nothing much happens for 2 reasons - the Earth's magnetic field and the ozone layer. The Earth's magnetic field is strong enough to push these mass projections of the sun into another direction so that it goes around the Earth and anything that gets through the magnetic field would die out from the protection of the ozone layer. But the particles that don't get deflected by the magnetic field can go to the north and south pole causing nothing much but the energetically charged particles that came from the blast to ruffle up the oxygen and nitrogen atoms, to get all excited for some visitors and then to start glowing making an Aurora.
For more information about the cme's and auroras check out these links;

School, Part 1 out of 1 (Gone Violent)
Numeracy
For Numeracy I did some math with numbers, It's really just some algebra and trying to find some equations with the info given to me. To break it down more Tia gets $2.50 a day in a week and Tom doesn't know how to save money and spends the 20 bucks he got off the street and goes into massive debt. I made a chart to show my work and my thinking of the equations.
Literacy
For literacy I had to research and write how sound and objects move in space, it wasn't too hard but I'm not saying it was easy. According to my research it's somewhat correct, I think it's good and I can now brag about knowing something most people won't. This is my pieces of work.
Add on
For a fun task we made a timebox and letters for future generations about how this time of not fun was like. Its full of what it was like and what happened and most importantly me. It was too big to take an image of so if you want to see it here is the linkvhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1Sz5NhrQNciu3y-7M5SlylzyOa52BXu0jNyM8iOVyI0M/edit?usp=sharing

The Ultimate Birthday cake to make any cooking show jealous (I'm talking mostly to Gordon Ramsey)
Its a Minecraft themed cake of a TNT block with 5 layers on the inside being all rainbow with flavors corresponding to its colour, the outside being coated in frosting of the colours red, black and grey. I added a special element to the cake and to make it more like a TNT block a put in actual TNT! Just kidding its popping candy.
How do you like my cake and would you eat it?

Extraordinary, Brilliant, Magnificent, Stupendous Portrait of Moi
Here it is...
In the bottom right corner is me crashing into bed because i'm always tired. The top is sports I enjoy doing, personal hobbies and the shark is a finishing detail.
The left is my passion for art and some random doodles I slapped on with the might of Zeus (Personal favorite is the very special Peter Griffin).
On the Right is my wide eyed dog Milo and my love of food. And my portrait of myself with the face I make every hour, minute and second - EVEN MILLISECONDS! - of the day.
My family is from Colombia (top left of the drawing is the national flag) and NZ (flag is the very top right of the portrait).
The artist that this portrait style is ever so slightly based upon is Romero Britto, he is quite a good artist from Brazil who does portraits of famous people in abstract. Have you heard of him or seen any of his artwork? They are really bright and fun, I advise you to check them out.
